Digital measuring instruments

Digital measuring instruments — illustrazione di categoria

Digital measuring instruments are the front line of dimensional control in manufacturing and craftsmanship: digital-display callipers, micrometers and indicators make it possible to rapidly verify linear dimensions, thicknesses, depths and deviations with typical resolutions of 0.01 mm or 0.001 mm, bringing metrology directly to the machine or the workbench.

The digital sliding calliper is the universal tool: external, internal, depth and step measurements in a single body. The digital micrometer achieves resolutions of 0.001 mm with uncertainties of ±2–5 µm. The digital comparator measures relative deviations, ideal for checking deflection, runout and flatness. Models with data output (Mitutoyo Digimatic, SPC) interface directly with quality-control software for statistical data collection. In the maker context, the availability of affordable callipers (±0.02 mm) has made dimensional checking routine even outside the industrial environment.
